Jon Cornforth

We are pleased to introduce Jon Cornforth as our current Fotoman Featured Professional. Jon is an award-winning nature photographer whose images have been recognized internationally for their masterful composition and incredible detail. Jon lives in Seattle, Washington, USA and spends over 6 months each year shooting in new locations throughout Washington, Alaska, Hawaii, and the Desert Southwest.

Jon's work is represented by Alamy and SeaPics stock agencies, as well as in most of North America's calendar lines. He specializes in selling fine art prints in nature galleries and through juried art shows.

Jon bought a Fotoman 612 in Oct 2005 and purchased most of his lenses used. He uses a Rodenstock 65mm f5.6, Rodenstock 90mm f6.8, Nikkor 105mm f5.6, and a Rodenstock 150mm f6.3.

"I like the simplicity of the Fotoman system. It fits in my camera backpack with all of my other equipment and travels with me to some incredibly remote places."

"I use the ground-glass attachment with a dark cloth to compose, because I like 'seeing' my image... I also use graduated neutral density filters a lot in my work, and this makes it easier for me to correctly place the filter edge. The body is robust enough to accompany me to the ends of the earth, and my 24"x50" print results are big enough to satisfy my discerning collectors."
