Zamorkin... we SEE you

Last month I received a most interesting portfolio of 6x17 images from "Zamorkin". I don't speak Russian (I assume it's Russian), even though I am one quarter Ukranian by birth. Consequently, I have sadly been unable to communicate with Zamorkin.

I must say, that I have never seen the 6x17 format handled in such an intimate manner. Many of the images remind me of HCB's work, capturing the "decisive moment"... slices of life, frozen in time.

Of the 70 images submitted, I have selected a representative sampling to post for everyone's enjoyment. Zamorkin's gallery can be found on our Gallery webpage... in the "Featured Pro" section, temporarily.

Hopefully, a viewer (who speaks Russian) will communicate on my behalf... to advise Zamorkin that his portfolio has been posted, and that I am very impressed with his unique vision. The email address I have is simply (info@zamorkin.com).

LIFETIME WARRANTY for camera bodies

We are pleased to announce that all Fotoman camera bodies now carry a Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects...

after almost five years, and over 1000 cameras in the market without a single manufacturing defect, we have decided to extend our previous 2 year warranty period to the full lifetime of the camera.

Obviously, user misuse or abuse is not covered, and the new warranty is retroactively applicable to all camera bodies of Mark-I or later vintage.

New Focal length Conversion Tables

We often get requests to advise what an "equivelant" lens would be as compared to 35mm format. Not unusual, as so many of us are intimate with the 35mm format and what a given lens looks like in 35mm terms.

In response to these numerous (and time consuming) requests, we have published Focal Length Conversion Charts for the following formats;

Panoramic (metric): 612, 617, 624
Panoramic (inch): 4x10
Large Format (inch): 4x5, 5x7, 6.5x8.5 (Whole Plate), 8x10
