Hello All,

just wanted to inform you that I am in Houston, Texas, a quest of Hurricane Ike. Other than for having no electricity, water or internet... I'm just fine.

I have no idea how long it will be before life gets back to normal here... Ike was on heck of a storm. I am in San Antonio for the day, but I must return to Houston shortly. Postings to the website will be sporadic until I get internet at my Houston location, so please be patient. Orders are shipping from Hong Kong, but they come through me... so deliveries will be sporadic as well.

Dmax Salvation?

Not surprisingly, a few folks were quite disappointed to hear of the Dmax cancellation. So much so, that they asked us to reconsider and offered to place advanced orders. Thank you all.

So here's the story... we need to receive a minimum of 10 advanced orders before we can begin a production run. If interested, please post your commitment intent on our Q&A page, and we will answer you directly via email to confirm.

We will update this news posting with the count as it progresses.

Fotoman Dmax camera: Cancelled

We are sorry to report that we have decided not to continue the development or marketing of our proposed Dmax camera. This decision is a result of numerous factors, though most notably (1) the lack of interest from either our dealers or the general public, and (2) the rapid changes occurring in the medium format digital back market.

While not in the same league regarding overall capabilities, many may find our upcoming Fotoman 69 camera a suitable replacement for the Dmax.

Zamorkin... we SEE you

Last month I received a most interesting portfolio of 6x17 images from "Zamorkin". I don't speak Russian (I assume it's Russian), even though I am one quarter Ukranian by birth. Consequently, I have sadly been unable to communicate with Zamorkin.

I must say, that I have never seen the 6x17 format handled in such an intimate manner. Many of the images remind me of HCB's work, capturing the "decisive moment"... slices of life, frozen in time.

Of the 70 images submitted, I have selected a representative sampling to post for everyone's enjoyment. Zamorkin's gallery can be found on our Gallery webpage... in the "Featured Pro" section, temporarily.

Hopefully, a viewer (who speaks Russian) will communicate on my behalf... to advise Zamorkin that his portfolio has been posted, and that I am very impressed with his unique vision. The email address I have is simply (info@zamorkin.com).
